Greetings Chaplaincy Friends,
As we start to feel signs of spring, I would like to share an uplifting excerpt from one of our chaplain’s monthly reports.
“At the Lily lobby you often find a volunteer, and on any given floor there are doctors, physical therapists, social workers, physician assistants, cleaning staff, food service staff, aides, nurses, I.T. folks, painters, construction workers, secretarial staff and administration. The saying goes there is no I in Team. That is THE truth here at Falmouth Hospital. Anyone at any given moment when asked to help, will lend a hand, bring something, answer a question and are ALL-WAYS and Always willing and happy to do so. You can see in the smiles exchanged, the stories shared, the laughs and the serious moments too. The kindness, cooperation, and collaborative feel of the daily life in the hospital is contagious as we all move and work and
live and come and go at Falmouth Hospital! It is such a treat to be part of this amazing place.”
Reverend Saramaria Allenby
I think what sums up the essence of Falmouth Hospital’s community teamwork is the shared
compassion for the people they serve and work with. Indeed, compassion is a core value of chaplaincy work, providing care and spiritual support to patients, families and staff regardless of their religious beliefs. Chaplains are able to listen without judgment and provide a comforting presence. As we enjoy spring’s arrival, please consider a donation to the Upper Cape Chaplaincy to support our chaplains’ valuable work at Falmouth Hospital and the JML Care Center. We currently use our Chaplaincy funds to supplement what the hospital’s budget is not able to provide to achieve a more optimal level of chaplain services.
Thank you for your consideration, and wishing blessings in your days,
Ann Stone,
President, Board of the Upper Cape Chaplaincy with Kristin Fraser and Rev. Ruth Blais, Vice Presidents; Donna Fish,
